The sewing can be started from any part the sewer wants, on condition that he/she follows one colour only and on the shortest way possible, until the thread in the needle ends. For the nice presentation of the gobelin, the sewing with several colours at the same time and on strictly delimited areas is not recommended. It is preferable that th beginning and the end on every thread in the needle should not be done with knots. The embroidery thread should be tugged through several threads of the canvas both at the beginning and at the end of thread in the needle.
The gobelin embroidery in the classical style must be sewn on type A canvas with density of 10 loops/1cm; respectively 100 loops/cm2 with two of the six threads of the embroidery thread. For a more rare canvas, type B with density of 8 nets/cm, respectively 64 loops/cm2 the sewing is to be made with three of the six threads of the embroidery thread. Each sign from the diagram of teh model represents a classical loop or a sole pinprick across a thread of the canvas; oblique, to the right upwards (Fig. 1).
The gobelin embroidery in the Norvgian style on type A canvas is to be sewn with three of the six threads of the embroidery thread. For each sign from the diagram of the model, two pinpricks are to be sewn, side-by-side across two threads of the canvas, upwards, always from right to left. Each pinprick from the contiguous two is to be sewn from the left down side, oblique, upwards, to the right. The next pinprick is to be made contiguously, down, on the left (Fig. 2).
Do not stretch the thread and twist it back during the sewing in order to obtain a nice equal covering of the canvas. The quality sewing is obtained when the canvas is well stretched an embroidery frame.
The gobelin sewn with embroidery threads dyed by our firm can be washed if necessary.
